SYSPRO Joins Microsoft Technology Adoption Program

January 17 2010

SYSPRO, a leading, worldwide provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, today announced that the company has accepted an invitation to join the Microsoft Technology Adoption Program (TAP) and is currently working with Microsoft on the development of the Windows Workflow Foundation, which provides a programming model, in-process workflow engine and re-hostable designer to implement long-running processes as workflows within .NET applications. The TAP is designed to provide a consistent experience for Microsoft partners to obtain real-world customer feedback on Microsoft pre-release products.
According to Phil Duff, SYSPRO CEO, “SYSPRO, a Microsoft Gold Partner and former Microsoft Developer of the Year, has enjoyed a close working relationship with Microsoft, as evidenced by the concurrent development of Microsoft.NET and SYSPRO e.net solutions.” When .NET was released in 2000, a Microsoft manager, in fact, referred to SYSPRO as the “.NET Poster Child.”
Microsoft selected SYSPRO to be a part of the TAP after seeing the amazing work SYSPRO had done developing the new .NET-based Workflow module embedded within the award winning SYSPRO ERP solution. As a participant in the Microsoft TAP, SYSPRO will provide feedback as well as suggested software enhancements during Microsoft’s developmental phases.
SYSPRO Workflow Services is part of SYSPRO 6.1, being introduced in early 20l0. SYSPRO Workflow Services provides users with an easier way to orchestrate or execute the complex processing of data in a visual form, much like flow charts, but without the need to understand computers or programming.
According to Duff, “The Workflow solution for SYSPRO is deeply embedded in the SYSPRO product, meaning the workflow processes can be initiated from anywhere in SYSPRO.” The advantages of a .NET-based workflow solution are also numerous, says Duff, including greater flexibility, improved process controls and the easy development of .NET associated programs to augment business processes.
