| East Africa Com Set to Gather Over 1000 Telco Professionals Over 2 Days of Discussions, Networking & Debate January 25 2010 |
Informa Telecoms & Media is pleased to announce that more CxO level speakers than ever have confirmed their attendance to the 6th Annual East Africa Com conference & exhibition. The East African telecommunications industry’s thought leaders will gather together in Nairobi’s imposing Kenyatta International Conference Centre this April for this well established event. Key decision makers from the region’s operators, regulators and global vendors will discuss and debate the best opportunities and strategies for growth in East Africa’s markets. The event will see a real cross-section of the region’s industry, with 1000+ fixed, mobile and wireless operator representatives, government authorities and regulators, telecom solutions providers, investors and other stakeholders expected. It covers the markets of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda and the neighboring East African markets, as well as attracting companies from other countries and international groups interested in investing in the region. “The programme for East Africa Com 2010 has an unrivalled panel of thought leaders and operator CEOs, and will provide participants with the latest information to help them plan their strategies in a context of changing market conditions,” says Julie Rey, Research Director at organizers Informa Telecoms & Media. Over two days, over 35 expert speakers – including 17+ CxO operators - will share their experiences and debate the latest developments in the region’s communications market, including technology developments, new services, strategies to maximize cost-efficiency, as well as special sessions on more specialized topics such as international connectivity and submarine cables, rural and green services, converged services and more. The panel of speakers includes Kenya’s Minister of Information and Communications, the Hon. Samuel Poghisio; the heads of Tanzania’s and Kenya’s regulatory bodies; representatives of international corporations with a presence across the region, such as Zain, MTN, Orange and Essar; as well as leading national operators (Safaricom, UgandaTel), ISPs, etc. New for 2010, key debates and interview sessions will focus on the most pertinent topics to ensure significant and lively debate. Furthermore, this will all take place in a new, larger and more central Nairobi venue – due to considerable growth in delegate numbers, the 2009 venue no longer has the capacity. The Kenyatta Centre will ensure that the congress is in Nairobi’s buzzing center, and that the number of conference delegates – as well as exhibiting companies – can continue to grow. As well as being a unique learning opportunity, East Africa Com is also a unique networking opportunity for telecoms professionals, with such a representative cross-section all under one roof. In 2010, 1000 participants are expected from across East Africa and beyond, and there is a multitude of scheduled interaction and contact building sessions in a relaxed business environment. Delegates will be able to take advantage of interactive sessions in the conference, an online networking tool and informal meeting times such as a drinks reception at the top of the Kenyatta tower with panoramic views over Nairobi. |
