NAVIGON Makes the Orient Accessible for iPhone Users

February 01 2010

NAVIGON extends its international range and now offers navigation for all iPhone users in the Persian Gulf region: The MobileNavigator Gulf+Jordan in its latest version 1.4.0. Thus NAVIGON, based in Hamburg, Germany, follows its plan to continue its internationalization and gain exposure on international markets. In 2009 the company already expanded its activities and was introduced in countries such as Australia, South Africa and Brazil. The MobileNavigator Gulf+Jordan now offers digital maps for the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman as well as Jordan.
Intuitive Navigation
Thanks to the App, iPhone users in the Arabic region gain orientation and mobility. The software incorporates important functions like the intelligent name browser to search for street and building names, the programmable speed assistant, real road signs and the Lane Assistant Pro. Furthermore the App offers a number of innovative features1. As part of the recently introduced version 1.4.0, NAVIGON offers these features for the iPhone for the very first time. The new features complement the established configuration and thanks to their intuitive handling offer a great navigation experience on the iPhone, based on the best-in-class map view and perfectly timed voice advices.
Flexible All-rounder with Google Local Search
When it comes to the navigation for pedestrians, the MobileNavigator uses the integrated compass of the iPhone 3G S. Thus users can see at a glance in which direction they are moving. Additionally they can choose between 2D and 3D view. While navigating it is possible to manually zoom in and out in 3D map mode to get the most comfortable view of the map. The user can easily search for street and building names, or enter directly the geographic coordinates of the destination.
Thanks to the integrated Google Local Search, iPhone users easily find their way to places they do not know the address of – for example restaurants, shops or events.
The MobileNavigator Gulf+Jordan is available in the App Stores of the respective countries2. The App is right now available for a special introduction price of US$ 99.99.
